Miami got a verbal yesterday from a position they so desperately need, OL. Jared Wheeler committed on 790 the Ticket, and should start right away.
At 6′5” 310 lbs, and with a 4.1 GPA, he could possibly play Center, and lead to change the abysmal OL play of recent years. His final two options were Vanderbilt and the U, so we can take that as we wish. I think that has more to do with his intelligence than lack of talent, as some might assume. He has said he was choosing his school based on the best Engineering program. Looks like yet another checkmark in Miami’s cap over Vandy. Suck it Commies!
Wheeler was also considering Tennessee, Auburn, and Florida, and had been offered by the entire SEC. In the end, this goes to show how great of a school Miami is, and the reputation President Shalala has created publicly. Suntan U esta no mas.
