Danny Langsdorf as Potential OC

A Mexican, a Jew, and Patrick Nix go into a offensive team meeting. Randy looks up and says, "Get the fuck out of here."

A Mexican, a Jew, and Patrick Nix walk into a offensive team meeting. Randy looks up and says, "Get the fuck out of here. But the Jew and Mexican can stay."

This OC hire will be what Randy is remembered for. After some supposed facts got out regarding his too quick hiring of Nix back in 2007 to close on Robert Marve, I am happy he is taking his time on this one. I do not feel Randy needs to have a “home-run” candidate; far from it. In fact, I want a no-name hire. Someone with no expectations coming in, so the media is back focused solely on Randy and the team as a whole. So hearing this news, albeit not backed up by any substantiated facts, is a great sign.  Once I finally got around to breaking down candidates for the OC gig, I realized, I have no fucking idea who to get. A simple google search gives nothing. Randy is keeping this one under wraps. I don’t want an NFL retread; been there, didn’t work. While Dirk Koetter would be a great name and has a great resume, I believe he would peace out after two years. After realizing I don’t have a name screaming out to me, I knew what I really wanted. I want a Pac-10 guy. Randy has said, finally, he wants to get back to the run-first Pro-Set offense, which I adore. So, my immediate thought was, who on USC can we poach? Uh, yea, I know, not happening. Not only is it a step down job-wise, but they switch OC’s post-Norm Chow enough that a QB’s coach can just stick around for a couple years and get a chance at the main gig, or an HC job of his own.

Danny Langsdorf

I don’t even know who Danny Langsdorf is. I know “of” him, as I have watched plenty of Oregon State games during his tenure, and they have usually looked prettay good. Obviously better than any Nix-led shit storm. But, I don’t know if he or Mike Riley calls the plays. Whatever. You know what? Just get him here. I’ll take any Pac-10 pedigree over any other conference right now.

It seems like a great move for him, as Oregon State has two other Assistant HC’s on Mike Riley’s staff, who himself doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. Come to the Gables, light up these jokes of ACC defense’s, wait five years, leave for your own pacific coast job with great South Florida Thugs® recruiting ties.
